We post problems we can’t solve. If you can, the solution is yours.
Every challenge is a formally stated question with a public spec. You don’t need our permission, our framework, or our approval to work on it. You need the math to be right.
How it works:
1. Pick a problem.
Browse the open list. Each challenge has a formal statement, a difficulty estimate, and a note on what’s already been tried. If it’s not in your wheelhouse, skip it.
2. Submit a solution.
A proof, a counterexample, or a reduction to a known result. It needs to be checkable by someone who wasn’t in the room. No “we believe,” no “intuitively,” no hand-waving. If it’s right, it’s right.
3. Get credited.
Your name on the writeup. Your IP stays with you. We cite, we don’t claim. If the solution unblocks something we’re building, we’ll tell you — and ask before we use it.
What we fund (when applicable):
- Compute costs for verification at scale
- Time for researchers who can’t afford to work on it for free
- Joint publication if the result is co-derived
If you solve one, the writeup goes up within 30 days. If you get stuck, you can still submit a partial result — we’d rather have a good lemma than silence.
